Pop-ups are fun. They're entertaining, fascinating, creative and they're very hard work. Hopefully you got to enjoy yourselves at one of them. Those days have now passed and we're moving on to bigger ideas - such as our share purchase.
That's not to say we won't be out and about having events to fundraise. Far from it. Steve Stark, who many of you know as 'American Steve', has taken on the challenge of being the face of public fundraising for our cause. Steve will champion the fundraising efforts of the community and has already been listening to the various ideas put forward by many of you. Plans are being made right now, so if you've had an idea that would help but weren't sure how to get it into action - he's your man. I've heard there's possibly a 'Safari Dinner' on the cards.
The next event, and the first to be managed by Steve, will take place at The King's Arms in Shouldham on Thursday 19th April, 6:30pm to 9:30pm. They're celebrating their third consecutive CAMRA Pub of the Year win and are giving their kitchen staff the night off. The award will be presented at 8pm. Ian, the landlord, kindly asked if we'd like to run the barbecue and raise funds to save The Crown. Of course we said 'Yes'! On top of that the beer supplied on the evening will be paid for by donations with the funds raised being split amongst three good causes - and ours is one of them. It's a chance to meet up with fellow shareholders and find out the very best reasons to take part in community ownership. It's also an opportunity to probe the Shouldham folks with all the awkward questions you're saving up for us!
So come along if you can, bring your questions and enjoy the barbecue.
