A community-led pub is not a hobby. It is run for the benefit of those within the community. Those who own shares have a say in how it's run. That could be you.
Think for a minute what it would be like to be a part of something important at the heart of the village. If you owned a share in a community pub would you let this happen? I think you, like me, would do everything you could to prevent a situation like this one.
Today we published our business plan. We're certain that the pub could be a lively, welcoming place. Our community consultations and public meetings have told us that this community wants something better. Certainly better than whatever a closed pub can deliver. A closed pub is more of a disservice to the village. A sad, deteriorating piece of history. A blot on our landscape. A two-fingered salute to all the goodwill that came before.
It doesn't have to be like this.
The community and this group has not closed the door on you, Dave & Cheryl. We're still here and willing to help you move on. You will be helping us in the process. Together we can preserve a vital part of village life for generations to come. All channels of communication are open. Please, take some advice then talk to us.
